CHANGES TO THE BOARD

In accordance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the board of directors of the Company (“the Board”) wishes to advise that Mr Damain Matroos has been appointed by the Board as the Group Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect after having served in the role since February 2019 in an interim capacity.

Additionally, Mrs Tariro Gadzikwa is appointed by the Board as the Group Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect after having served in the role since February 2019 in an interim capacity.

Afric Oil (Proprietary) Limited (“Afric Oil”)

The Afric Oil board of directors (“the Afric Oil Board”) has also appointed Mr Ahlben Phillipus as the managing director of Afric Oil, the Company’s largest operating subsidiary.  Mr Phillipus holds an MBA (WBS), B. Com (UCT) and is currently completing his ICBB (Six-Sigma Black Belt).  He has thirteen years consulting and petrochemical experience with KPMG Advisory and Shell Petroleum, as an Independent Consultant.  His previous position held was that of Chief Operating Officer for African Group Lubricants before joining Afric Oil.

He has extensive experience within the petroleum energy sector which includes delivering on roles and projects across sales, marketing, supply, distribution, strategy and finance.  He is experienced in implementing and executing on business operating models, and developing new business opportunities.
