In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, a listed company is required to publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes reasonably certain that the financial results for the next period to be reported on will differ by 20% or more from the financial results for the previous corresponding period.

Six months ended 31 August 2021

The Company hereby advises that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that for the six-month period ended 31 August 2021 (“Current Interim Reporting Period”):

  • headline loss per share will be between a loss of 2.8 cents and headline earnings per share of 2.2 cents, representing a decrease in the headline loss per share of between 89% and 109% compared to the headline loss per share of 25.1 cents reported for the six-month period ended 31 August 2020 (“Prior Interim Reporting Period”); and
  • earnings per share will be between 10.7 cents and 18.4 cents, representing an increase of between 128% and 148% compared to the loss per share of 38.4 cents reported for the Prior Interim Reporting Period.

Year ended 28 February 2022

The Company further advises that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that for the year ended 28 February 2022 (“Current Annual Reporting Period”):

  • headline losses per share will be between a loss of 4.9 cents and a headline profit of 1.9 cents, representing a decrease of between 86% and 106% compared to the headline loss per share of 34.0 cents reported for the year ended 28 February 2021 (“Prior Annual Reporting Period”); and
  • earnings per share will be between 16.2 cents and 25.5 cents, representing an increase of between 135% and 155% when compared to the loss per share of 46.5 cents reported for the Prior Annual Reporting Period.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by the auditor of the Company. The reviewed results for the Current Interim Reporting Period and the audited results for the Current Annual Reporting Period are expected to be published on or about 27 November 2023.
